Educational Qualification: As mentioned below –
Flying Branch –
Candidates must have passed Maths and Physics at the 10+2 level with a minimum of 60% in each subject.
- Graduation with a minimum of 60% or equivalent in a three-year degree programme in any field from a recognized university; OR
- A minimum of 60% or equivalent in a BE/ B.Tech degree (four-year programme) from a recognized university; OR
- Candidates who have passed Section A and B of the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India examinations with a minimum of 60% or equivalent from a recognized university.
Ground Duty (Technical) Branch –
Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics): Candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level, as well as a four-year degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from a recognized university OR have passed Sections A and B of the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India, or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actuarial examination.

Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical): Candidates with a minimum of 50 percent marks in Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level and a minimum of four years of degree graduation/ integrated post-graduate qualification in Engineering/ Technology from a recognized university OR cleared Sections A & B examinations of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies with a minimum of 60 percent marks or equivalent in the following disciplines –

Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch –
(aa) Administration: Passed 10+2 and a Graduate Degree (minimum three-year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% or equivalent, or cleared section A and B of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% or equivalent.
(ab) Education: Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with a minimum of 50% in any field, including integrated programmes delivering PG (single degree with no exit or lateral entrance) and a minimum of 60% in graduation in any subject.
NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch) –
On or after December 1, 2017, NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate was obtained. At the 10+2 level, a minimum of 60% in math and physics is required. Graduates with a minimum three-year degree course in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR BE/B Tech degree (four-year course) from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR Candidates who have passed Section A and B of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Other Eligibility Criteria For Indian Air Force AFCAT Jobs 2021
Age Limit: As mentioned below –
» Flying Branch through AFCAT & NCC Special Entry: 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2023 i.e. born between 02 January 1999 to 01 January 2003 (both dates inclusive). The upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years i.e. born between 02 January 1997 to 01 January 2003 (both dates inclusive).
» Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-Technical) Branches: 20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2023 i.e. born between 02 January 1997 to 01 January 2023 (both dates inclusive) for Indian Air Force AFCAT Jobs 2021.
Marital Status: Candidates under the age of 25 must be single at the time of the course’s start. Widows/widowers, as well as divorcees (with or without encumbrances) under the age of 25, are ineligible. An applicant who marries after submitting his application, even if he is successful on the SSB or medical, will be ineligible for training. A candidate who marries during his training time will be released and must reimburse the government for all expenses paid on his behalf. Married applicants over the age of 25 are able to apply, however, they will not be supplied with married housing or be allowed to live with their families throughout the training time.

The examination fees of Rs.250/- (non-refundable) for AFCAT admission (not applicable for NCC special entry & Meteorology) can be paid online using the ‘Make Payment’ step on the main menu of the online application after filling out the online application form. The payment of the examination fee will not be accepted in cash, check, or demand draught (DD). Through the payment portal, the examination fee can be paid with credit/ debit cards or net banking.
