Educational Qualification: B.E or B. Tech or (DOEACC) B-Level or AMIE or Graduate-IETE or M.Sc. or MCA or M.E or M.Tech in the field as mentioned below –
Field (Single or in combination): Electronics, Electronics & Communication or Electronics and Instrumentation, Electronics and Telecommunication, Communication, Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science or Computer Science and Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer, Computer & Networking Security, Software Systems or Software Engineering, Computer Application, Information Technology, Information Technology Management, Information Science or Information Science and Engineering, Computer Management.
Age Limit: 35 years as of closing date for receipt of applications i.e. 18.01.2022.
Age relaxation: As mentioned below –
- Up to 05 years in case of SC/ST candidates for the posts reserved for them
- Up to 03 years in case of OBC (Non-Creamy Layer (NCL)) candidates for the posts reserved for them
- Up to 10 years for PWD (15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC candidates)

Selection Process For NIELIT Recruitment 2021
» The final selection of eligible candidates for appointment to the post of Scientist ‘B’ will be based on the combined performance of the candidates both in the written examination and in an interview. The weight-age of marks for written examination and interview will be in the ratio of 85:15. It is mandatory to appear in the interview for selection.
» Only the shortlisted candidates based on merit position and reservation policy etc. in the ratio of 1:3 (No. of vacancies: No. of candidates), who have qualified the written examination, will be called for interview.
» Verification of requisite documents will be done at the time of the interview for the post of Scientist ‘B’.
Scheme Of Written Examination –
The Written Examination will be Objective type (OMR based) consisting of questions from Technical and Generic Areas. The duration of the written test will be 3 hours. There will be a total of 120 objective-type Questions consisting of 65% of questions from the Technical Area of the respective stream and 35% of questions from the Generic Area.
Every Question will carry a 1 (one) mark and there will be a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer. The cut-off marks for qualifying for the written examination will be 50% for General and EWS Category candidates, 40% for OBC candidates, and 30% for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
The Generic Area will comprise Logical, Analytical Reasoning Capabilities, Quantitative and Qualitative abilities, and General Awareness and Aptitude and the Stream-wise Syllabus for the written examination for the post of Scientist-B is available at the official website.
Application Fees For NIELIT Recruitment 2021
The applicants shall pay the Application Fee as mentioned below through online payment mode only.
- SC/ST/PWD/Women: Rs.400/-
- Others: Rs.800/-
The processing charges towards remittance of the Application Fee and service tax, if any, will have to be borne by the candidate. Fee through any other mode like Demand Draft, Pay Order, Cheque, or Challan will not be accepted.
